(I will keep the right to make last-minute changes to the backdrops if necessary, but all setups will be in the same colour theme.)

Backdrops

All three backdrops this year are perfect for families and designed to create a magical Christmas atmosphere.

We’re bringing in the Christmas Truck - its a real truck not a backdrop.

Next, we have the Christmas Door for Family Photos.

And last but not least, the outdoor snowy Porch.

What to Wear & How to Prepare

Clothing Colours

Classic Christmas colours always photograph best – think red, green. These tones work beautifully with all three backdrops and give your images a timeless feel.

Please avoid baby blues, pinks, blacks, animal prints, floral patterns, or other non-traditional colours and designs, as they can clash with the festive sets.

While you're welcome to wear Christmas jumpers, I personally don’t recommend them – but the choice is entirely yours.

Clothing & Outfit Changes

One outfit change is allowed during your session. However, please don’t attempt a change if your child dislikes changing clothes – especially with toddlers (ages 1.5–3), autistic children, or teens who might find it overwhelming. It’s not worth upsetting them and affecting the mood of the session.

All backdrops are suitable for Christmas pyjamas but normal clothes might fit nicer this year! If you'd like pyjama shots, please arrive in your main outfit and change into PJs later – it’s a much easier transition.

For younger girls, make sure they wear something underneath dresses or skirts to cover nappies or underwear, as this can be visible in certain poses.

Hair

If you don’t want your child’s hair falling into their face, please bring a hair clip.

In general, open hair (straight or curled), half-up styles, or cute pigtails work beautifully on camera.

Avoid tight ponytails, as they can disappear in photos and make it look like there's no hair at all from certain angles.

For boys too, please make sure fringe/hair isn’t covering the eyes unless that’s your chosen style.

Hands, Nails & Skin

If your child is wearing nail polish, please make sure it’s neat and matches their outfit. If not, better to remove it.

Remove any visible band-aids or plasters unless absolutely needed.

Please ensure kids have no tattoos on arms or legs, as they are hard to edit out.

Avoid using self-tanning products, especially for babies or toddlers being held close – they can stain clothing and leave colour patches I can’t fix in editing.

Clothing Presentation

Please make sure all outfits are clean and ironed – creases really show up in studio lighting.

If you're wearing shoes, they must be clean and brought into the studio to be put on indoors. Our floor is white and needs to stay spotless for every family.

No pointy high heels, please – they can damage the floor and may not be safe around little ones.

Props & Outdoor Style Tips

You’re very welcome to bring woolly hats, scarves, and cosy jumpers for the rooftop backdrop.

I recommend avoiding coats – they’re bulky, too warm, and most kids don’t enjoy wearing them indoors.

How to prepare?

Please make sure to arrive dressed and ready on time. My Eircode is p36rh59.
I wanted to let you know that there won't be a real Santa at the session this year, so please keep that in mind.
Your session is scheduled for up to 25 minutes, so please try to be on time to make the most of your session. If you're running late, it may cut into your session time.
The backdrops are suitable for family pictures and kids' portraits, so we'll have plenty of options for capturing beautiful memories.
If your little one cannot sit or if your toddler isn't cooperating as much as you'd like, you need to join them in the pictures. The backdrops aren't designed for non-sitting children, however we will still try to get them if we can.
Feel free to bring bribes to the photoshoot if you think they'll help, but please only mention them if absolutely necessary. The session is only 25 minutes, so they shouldn't need a bribe.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, shoes are not allowed in the studio unless they are fully clean and only put on inside the studio. Also, please avoid wearing high heels, they will not fit not the setups this year!
Lastly, I kindly request that you don't bring sick children to the session. Sniffly noses and a tiny cough are fine, but please refrain from bringing children with fevers or infectious diseases like chickenpox, covid , hand mouth foot and so on.
