How to prepare for your Shoot?
What to bring
- Please bring milk for baby, plenty of nappies, and a pacifier/dummy/soother if baby uses one.
- If there is anything special you would like included in your little one’s photos, please feel free to bring it along.
- Otherwise, there is nothing else you need to bring.
- Please bring drinks for older siblings.
- It is perfectly okay to bring a few little bribes for the photoshoot. Crackers, snacks, or sweets that won’t stain their teeth can really help a short photoshoot run smoothly.
- Please avoid anything that could stain their face, teeth, or mouth.
- Chocolate can also mark the clothes, so it is best avoided.
Before the session
- If baby has any plasters on their foot, thigh, etc., please remove them before the session if they are no longer needed.
- If baby is very alert, a bath just before leaving can sometimes help them relax and settle for the session.
- Please avoid temporary tattoos on children’s arms or legs, as they are very difficult to remove from images.
- If your child wears nail polish, please make sure it is neat and tidy.
- Please avoid self-tanning products before the session, as they can stain baby’s clothes during the shoot.
- Fake tan lines and yellow/orange skin tones will not be edited afterwards.
Clothing
- Please iron all clothes before the session.
- You do not need to dress everyone the same, but it is lovely when the outfits work well together.
- Simple clothing is usually more timeless, but this is completely up to you.
- For smaller girls, please make sure they wear something underneath dresses or skirts to cover nappies or underwear.
- For newborn family photos, simple black or white tops work beautifully.
- If you like that clean, timeless style, you are very welcome to bring black or white tops for the family shots but please choose the black backdrop.
Hair
- Please avoid ponytails, as they can make it look like the child has very little hair from certain angles.
- For girls, please make sure their hair is styled so it does not cover their face.
